Piers Morgan opens up the show with a passionate monologue expressing his distaste for this year’s Met Gala party as its theme was celebrating the life of fashion designer Karl Lagerfield.
Piers agrees that Karl might have been one of the most influential fashion designers ever, but also added that he had very outspoken controversial opinions such as being against gay marriage, claiming models should ‘expect’ to be groped, problematic takes on Syrian refugees and much more. However many of the people who attended the event are outspoken on these issues and would ‘cancel’ anyone for having the views shared by Karl still showed up and celebrated his life. Piers points out the hypocrisy of Hollywood’s elite and believes that they are selling out their morals for a career opportunity.
