Piers Morgan Uncensored with Jeremy Kyle is joined by TalkTV contributor Esther Krakue and socialist author Grace Blakeley to discuss BP earning $6.9 Billion during the cost of living crisis and they talk about the growth in migration.
They start off by discussing the recent figure released by BP of earning $6.9 Billion whilst many are struggling in a cost of living. Esther believes we shouldn’t need a windfall tax if these big profitable corporations are “paying what they should be paying”. Grace adds that big companies receiving these large amounts whilst many struggle to afford food is “immoral, irrational and it makes no sense”.
Finally, they debate the impact of the growth of migration and if it is a good or bad thing for the country. Grace debates that migrants are the backbone of this country and have helped contribute massively to industries like the NHS. Jeremy however believes that the benefits system in this country makes it easy for people to come here and live without working, which stokes a back and forth between Grace, Esther and Jeremy on whether there is truth to this statement or if it’s a “gross generalisation”.
