Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by former BBC royal correspondent Michael Cole, TalkTV presenter Richard Tice and Sunday Times columnist Matthew Syed to discuss Gary Lineker’s controversial tweet about the migrant crisis, comparing Suella Braverman and Rishi Sunak’s plans to the laws of 1930s Germany.
Michael believes that once someone becomes the face of the BBC like Lineker has, they should hold a level of accountability for maintaining impartiality in the public eye. But suggests that as a freelance worker for the BBC, he is more than entitled to express his personal opinions on Twitter.
Piers then questions Matthew Syed, who also makes appearances on the BBC, on why he should be allowed to express political opinions on his Twitter feed whilst also covering politics for them. Matthew explains that it is because he is not the face of the franchise like Gary Lineker is.
